Robert Stewart

GSA alumnus & former head of Textiles at GSA 1949 - 1978

A prolific worker, S tewart produced paintings, tapestries, graphics, ceramics and large scale murals in his unmistakable style.

His influential textile designs were produced by Liberty, Heals, Pringle and Donald Brothers in the 1950's.

One of the foremost figures in British post-war design, Stewart is also remembered as  an inspiring and influential teacher.
