Finial bird drop earrings - ruthenium

These sweet drop stud earrings feature the bird and leaf motifs taken from the ironwork roof finial on the Mackintosh building. This unique rooftop finial was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh to represent Glasgow's coat of arms and the legend of Saint Mungo. Mackintosh abstracted natural forms in his unmistakable Glasgow Style of Art Nouveau, influenced by both Celtic and Japanese design.
